Flourishing in Mercury Retrograde
This is the time you need to pull your energies home and focus on you. Retrograde is when we become more conscious of the energies of our shadow self and the shadow self is often not very pretty. Fear, anxiety, feeling ungrounded, frustrated, lonely, overwhelmed or even apathy can come up. The more you push and try to force outcomes the stronger the rebound effect.
There is also a lot of power in the shadow self. Truths of what your desires and what you really yearn for in your life get thrust into the shadow self, hidden by the “busyness” of life.
This retrograde passes by the 25th of January, so take the next few weeks to commit to yourself and allow the outside energies to support you rather than hinder you.
The solution to flourishing in this time is self care.
When you feel your world is falling apart around you, the most important thing for you to do is to bring your focus back to you. (This is often the last thing we want to do!!).
This Mercury Retrograde, focus on your self care, self connection, thats when the power flows into you, rather than past you.
Doing a Daily Action that is you, committed to honouring you, in your own personal space, (that means doing it at home, not going to a class). I recommend that it take no more than 5-10 mins, set a timer. 5-10 mins every day is not very long but will make a massive difference to your day.
It could be meditation, yoga, strength exercises, breathing, stretching, using a foam roller, really anything that calls to you. The point is, its an activity that supports and nourishes you. That you are doing everyday, consistently.
You might hate your way through the first few days doing it because you know its good for you, not because you necessary enjoy it.
Just keep doing it, that feeling passes after a few days. Not every day will the action feel brilliant and you may not always feel amazing after. That not the point. The point is you need to show commitment to you and your self care. Your body will start to rely on you, supporting and nourishing it, every day. It will mean you have a clearer connection to your intuition and higher guidance, and as a result life just run much more smoothly!.
Do it and the motivation will come, don’t wait till you are motivated to start!

How to use:
- Apply a drop of your chosen oil to your hands, rub hands together 3 x clockwise and cup over your mouth and nose. Take deep inhalations and pull energy of the oil down into your heart then on the next breath pull it down to the soles of your feet.
Repeat for 6-10 breaths.
- Rub a drop over your heart, lower spine and or the soles of your feet.
Repeat any of the above as needed through the day to keep you pulling your focus back to yourself.
