Basil for muscles

BasilBasil (Ocimum basilicum) Essential oil is one of my favourites for relieving muscle pain, spasm, and tension.
I find it the most effective when it is applied straight on the area of pain.

How I like to use Basil oil:

  • Rub 1-2 drops straight on the area of pain.
  • I also like to put a 3-4 drops into some Epsom salts and add to a war bath.
  • Add 10-15 drops to 60mls (2oz) of carrier oil to do a full body massage

I keep reapplying the oil every 20 mins for acute pain or muscle injury and about 2 x per day for long term pain.
