E.O Saftey – Oils and Ears

MelroseAvoid putting essential oils in your ear canal at any time. It is dangerous and could cause hearing damage.

Essential oils can be very effective when dealing with ear issues, you just need to be smart and conscious of what you are doing when you use them.
I love to use Young Living’s Melrose Essential oil blend to clear blocked ears or Dorado Azule or any Eucalyptus for colds and mucus build up.

How do I apply oils for ear issues?

  • I rub 1 drop of my chosen essential oil around the ear. (To work out which oil to use, I look up the issue in my reference books like Essential Oils Desk Reference)
  • If I really want to get a small amount onto the inner edges of my ear (if its blocked sometimes I do this) then I drop 1 drop (only) in one hand, and then dip my index finger in it and I make sure there is only a light smearing of essential oil on it, and its not going to drip, then I rub it around the inner edges of my ear (see the video).
  • The other option is to put a few drops on a cotton ball and then tape it over the ear and leave it on over night. (I put the oil side of the cotton ball facing the inside of the ear.)
