Essential Oils for Digestion
I have found essential oils invaluable when I’ve been dealing with any issue with my digestion ranging from, bloating, gas, nausea, to vomiting, a stomach bug, or even gastroenteritis.
My go to oils for digestion are Young Living’s Di-Gize blend and Peppermint Essential oil.
Di-Gize is a blend of ginger, fennel, juniper, anise, patchouli, peppermint, tarragon, and lemongrass. It has quite a strong fragrance, but I find but it tastes much better than it smells!
The way I like to use oils for digestive issues is primary internally, although I’ve found they can be very effective just rubbing topically on the skin.
- Inhale – apply 1 drop into my hands and cup over my face taking deep breaths.
- Apply 1-2 drops on my belly
- For my son I would dilute and rub on his belly.
- 1-2 drops under the tongue
- 1 drop in a glass of water
- 1-5 drops in a vegetable capsule (although I rarely do this)
- Put water in my mouth and then drop in 2-3 drops and swallow. (See video)

Other oils that I sometimes use for digestion are: lemon, ginger, tarragon, fennel, spearmint, frankincense, citrus fresh and lavender.
